What Dock 4 brings

Built For Remote Operations That Can’t Wait

DJI Dock 4 pairs a permanent on-site base with the new Matrice 5TD. Together they cover the full job, from launch to the final report, without a pilot on location.

Ready in Seconds for Rapid Response

The Matrice 5TD launches within seconds of a mission starting, and a 25-second battery swap gets it back in the air just as quickly.

AI-Powered Workflow for Intelligent Operations

AI supports each stage of the job, from planning the route to recognising 17 types of object, including vehicles, fire and smoke.

Multi-Sensor Integration for Greater Versatility

Super tele, medium tele and 1280×1024 thermal cameras sit in one gimbal with a 3km laser rangefinder.

Comprehensive Solutions With Integrated Software

Dock, aircraft and software are designed as one system, so planning, flying and reviewing data all happen in the same place.

Built-In Radars for Reliable Flight

Radars, a LiDAR-based obstacle sensing module and two fisheye sensors help the aircraft avoid obstacles, including wires as thin as 11mm.

Secure and Compliant for Safer Operations

Built for organisations with strict data security and governance requirements, with compliance considered from the start.

Drone-in-a-box

A Drone That Lives Where The Work Is

DJI Dock 4 is a weatherproof base station installed at your site, whether that’s a rooftop, a substation, a depot or a remote compound. It houses the aircraft, protects it between flights, launches it and brings it home again.

Missions are planned and run from your control room. They can follow a fixed schedule, such as a daily inspection route, or be triggered on demand when an alarm sounds or an incident is reported.

The result is aerial data on tap at locations that would otherwise need a pilot, a vehicle and a journey every single time.

DJI Dock 4 is supplied with the DJI Matrice 5TD, which flies from the dock only. Explore the aircraft

Battery swapping

A 25-Second Battery Swap, Not A Wait To Recharge

Earlier docks charged the battery inside the aircraft, which kept it grounded between flights. Dock 4 swaps in a charged battery instead, so the Matrice 5TD is ready for the next call in around 25 seconds.

When an alarm trips or an emergency call comes in, the mission is sent from the control room, the dock opens and the aircraft is on its way within seconds. That holds true for the second and third call of the shift, not just the first.

  • Four batteries stored in the dock, three of them for the aircraft
  • The highest-charged battery always goes in next
  • Two batteries charge at the same time
AI-powered workflow

AI Across The Whole Mission, Not Just The Camera

DJI has built AI into each key stage of a Dock 4 operation. Your team spends less time planning flights and reviewing footage, and more time acting on what the drone finds.

Task breakdown

The job is split into the flights and actions needed to complete it.

Route planning

Flight routes are planned around the site and the objective.

Deployment

The Matrice 5TD launches from the dock to carry out the mission.

Object detection

AI recognises 17 types of object, including vehicles, fire and smoke.

Data analysis

Imagery is processed to highlight what needs attention.

Report generation

Findings are compiled into a report your team can act on.

One system

Dock, Aircraft And Software Designed To Work As One

Every part of Dock 4 has been developed together, which means fewer integration headaches and a clearer path from purchase to first flight.

Aircraft

Multi-sensor imaging

Super tele, medium tele and 1280×1024 thermal cameras with a 3km laser rangefinder. Read number plates from around 400m and overlay thermal on the visual feed.

Flight safety

Obstacle sensing and parachute

Radars, a colour LiDAR-based sensing module and two fisheye sensors detect obstacles down to 11mm wires. A built-in parachute deploys if something goes wrong.

Environment

Built for harsh sites

Rated for -40°C to 50°C, with anti-icing materials, an IP56 dock and an IP55 aircraft. Vibration tested for vehicle-mounted deployments.

Connectivity

4G, O4 and sub-2GHz

Built-in dual 4G as standard. Add the hard-wired DJI O4 ground station for up to 40km of range, with a sub-2GHz option across 19 frequency bands for policing.

Software

Live collaboration

Annotate the live stream in the DJI app to alert the remote pilot or control room, and stream from a phone back to DJI FlightHub for two-way video.

Governance

Secure and compliant

Designed for organisations that need to show where their data goes and who can access it, from public sector bodies to critical national infrastructure operators.

Use cases

Where DJI Dock 4 Earns Its Place

Docks deliver the most value where the same site needs eyes on it often, or where speed of response matters more than anything else.

Public safety

Drone as first responder

Get live aerial video to incidents from a dock on a station roof or at a strategic location while crews are still on their way, with optional red and blue lights fitted.

Utilities and energy

Repeat asset inspection

Run regular inspections of substations, solar farms and network assets without sending a crew out for every check.

Security

Patrols and alarm response

Schedule perimeter patrols and send the aircraft to an alarm the moment it triggers. Read number plates from around 400m, at any hour.

Construction and infrastructure

Progress and site monitoring

Capture consistent data from the same routes on a fixed schedule to track progress and spot issues early.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about DJI Dock 4, battery swapping, pricing and approvals.

What Is DJI Dock 4?
DJI Dock 4 is an automated drone dock from DJI Enterprise. It keeps the DJI Matrice 5TD on site and launches it for scheduled or on-demand missions that are run remotely, so your team can inspect, patrol or respond to an incident without a pilot travelling to the location first.
Which Drone Works With DJI Dock 4?
DJI Dock 4 is supplied with the DJI Matrice 5TD, the only aircraft in the range built for the dock. It flies from the dock only, with no remote controller, and carries super tele, medium tele and 1280×1024 thermal cameras alongside a 3km laser rangefinder.
How Quickly Can DJI Dock 4 Turn The Drone Around Between Flights?
Dock 4 swaps a charged battery into the Matrice 5TD in around 25 seconds, rather than charging the battery inside the aircraft. It always uses the highest-charged battery next and charges two batteries at the same time, so the aircraft is ready for the next mission almost immediately.
How Much Does DJI Dock 4 Cost In The UK?
Pricing depends on your configuration, installation and support requirements. Speak to our enterprise team for UK pricing on 0330 111 7177.
Do I Need CAA Approval To Operate A Drone Dock?
Most dock operations involve flying beyond visual line of sight with no pilot on site. In the UK this usually falls under the Specific category and needs an operational authorisation from the CAA. Our team can talk you through what your use case is likely to need before you commit.
