Training & Drone Laws
Do I need to register my drone?
Yes, Mavic 2 Pro pilots will need to register. Visit the CAA Website here. If you have already registered and have an Operator ID, remember to attach this somewhere visible to your Mavic 2 Pro.
Where Can I Operate?
Without taking a drone training course, you will have to fly by the rules of the Open Category’s A3 subcategory (fly far from people). This includes:
- No uninvolved people present within the area of flight;
- No flight within 150m horizontally of residential, commercial, industrial, and recreational areas.
If you’d like the freedom to fly closer to people then you will require an A2 CofC or a GVC, not sure which? Here are some links which might help you:
