Earlier this month, we hosted our regular drone drone demo event in Dunchurch, Rugby. The UK’s only multi-manufacturer and multi-vertical drone demo in the country it was an unrivalled event to view the future of the drone industry and hear insights from industry professionals.
Asif Gillani and Chris Roberts were present to display the new Parrot Anafi Thermal – a multi-vertical drone that can be used for Inspection, Public Safety, Mapping and Others. Tobias Wentzler of DJI to talk about the use of drones in public safety applications. On show there was two Matrice 210 V2s, a Matrice 600, a Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual and a variety of Payloads. James Wardlow of Phase One gave a speech on utilising the IXM range of cameras for Survey, Mapping and Inspection while Junio Palomba of Flyability demonstrated the strengths of the Elios 2 inspection drone by flying it into the exhibition centre’s roof-space. Gary Young also joined us on the day to offer insights on how Historic England has adopted drone technology.
Coptrz’s own team of specialists flew demo flights with James Pick expertly operating the Wingtra PPK fixed wing for an engaging display. Sam Denniff teamed up with Asif Gillani to deliver a public safety example – using both the Parrot Anafi Thermal and the Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual to locate an individual hiding in woodland. George Burne and Junio Palomba flew the Elios 2 in the aforementioned inspection demonstration.
The day was closed when all the experts were joined on stage by Daniel Dodd of Coverdrone for a Q&A session.
