Extended Detection & Coverage
Zenmuse L3 delivers a maximum detection range of up to 950m, allowing survey teams to collect accurate LiDAR data across larger areas. Operating at typical flight heights of 300โ500m, it increases coverage per mission while helping improve mapping efficiency.

Ultra-Fine Laser Spot Precision
A narrow 0.25 mrad laser beam produces a much smaller spot size than previous generations, allowing finer features such as power lines and branches to be captured more accurately. Improved energy density also increases ground point collection beneath vegetation for more detailed terrain models.

A: Multi-Return High-Density Point Cloud
Supporting up to two million laser pulses per second and as many as 16 returns per pulse, Zenmuse L3 captures dense, highly detailed point clouds. Multiple return capability improves performance in vegetation and other challenging environments.

Adaptable Scanning Patterns
Three scanning modes allow Zenmuse L3 to adapt to different applications. Linear mode provides consistent point cloud density for terrain mapping, Star-Shaped improves penetration in woodland and urban environments, while Non-Repetitive mode offers wider coverage for power line and infrastructure inspections.

Zenmuse L3 delivers significant improvements in both point cloud and RGB accuracy, while raising efficiency to new heights. Paired with DJI Matrice 400, a single flight can cover up to 10 kmยฒ, enabling up to 100 kmยฒ of high-accuracy mapping per day [2]. Large-area, high-accuracy results are delivered in a seamless workflow.

POS & Positioning-Focused
The upgraded high-precision POS system achieves heading accuracy of 0.02ยฐ and pitch accuracy of 0.01ยฐ (post-processed, 1ฯ). The self-developed LiDAR delivers ranging repeatability of 5 mm at 150 m (1ฯ) [5] and supports microsecond-level time synchronization. Each unit undergoes rigorous factory calibration to ensure consistently reliable survey results.
Survey-Grade LiDAR Precision
Vertical accuracy is better than 3 cm at 120m altitude, better than 5 cm at 300 m, and better than 10 cm at 500 m [6], easily supporting mapping projects at 1:500, 1:1000, and 1:2000 scales. The point cloud thickness produced by Zenmuse L3 is only half that of Zenmuse L2, supporting advanced analysis and high-accuracy applications.
High-Resolution Photogrammetry
With dual 100MP RGB mapping cameras, Zenmuse L3 achieves a ground sample distance (GSD) of 3 cm even at a 300m flight altitude [7]. Real-time position synchronization enables operation without ground control points (GCPs), ensuring high-quality imagery for precise mapping.
