Coptrz has announced an exclusive UK distribution partnership with Norwegian deep-tech company Tundra Drone, bringing the world’s first standardised modular payload platform for professional drones to UK defence, public safety, inspection and search and rescue operators.

The partnership positions Coptrz as the sole UK reseller of the Tundra system, delivering a NATO-aligned, non-Chinese payload ecosystem designed to help organisations maximise the operational capability of existing drone fleets.

Built initially for the Parrot ANAFI UKR platform, the Tundra system allows operators to quickly swap payloads in the field without tools, helping a single drone adapt to multiple mission requirements in seconds.

A More Flexible Approach to Drone Payloads

At the centre of the Tundra ecosystem is the Tundra Base, a rugged, tool-free payload interface that attaches to a host drone and enables operators to quickly connect mission-specific modules.

Rather than deploying multiple airframes for different tasks, operators can install the Base once and swap between payloads as operational needs change.

    Available modules include:

Drop systems, lasers, spotlights, floodlights, IR lighting, strobes, speakers, range finders, additional battery modules, microphones and parachute systems.

Each Base can support up to two standard mission modules alongside two sandwich-mounted Strobes, enabling operators to configure up to four payloads on a single drone platform.

The system has been engineered for demanding operational environments, with all modules ruggedised for temperatures ranging from -40°C to +85°C and rated to IP54.

Designed for Defence, Public Safety and Critical Operations

The partnership comes at a time when UK and NATO procurement strategies are increasingly shifting away from Chinese-built drone hardware.

Tundra Drone has been purpose-built for NATO-aligned defence and public safety markets, using a Norwegian-led, non-Chinese supply chain designed to support sovereign procurement requirements.

For operators across defence, blue light services, search and rescue and infrastructure inspection, the modular system offers a far more flexible way to deploy drones in the field. Teams can cover more missions using the same aircraft, reduce the need for multiple specialist airframes and minimise downtime when operational requirements change. It also simplifies deployment, training and fleet management for organisations operating at scale.

The platform is initially optimised for the Parrot ANAFI UKR, a NATO-compatible drone already widely deployed across defence and public safety operations.

    Built for Real Operational Flexibility

The Tundra modular ecosystem has been developed specifically for rapidly changing operational environments.

Operators can quickly adapt drones for a wide range of missions, from tactical resupply and covert night operations through to search and rescue, infrastructure inspection and reconnaissance. Modules such as IR Light support night vision operations, while Floodlight and Speaker payloads can assist during emergency response and search operations.

Unlike many competing payload systems that require screws, soldered connections or workshop reconfiguration, the Tundra platform enables payload swaps in seconds without tools.

For frontline teams operating under time pressure, that flexibility can be critical.

Coptrz to Provide UK Training, Support and Integration

As part of the agreement, Coptrz will provide UK organisations with access to the full Tundra product range, alongside technical support, operational integration guidance and training through Coptrz Academy.

The agreement also positions Coptrz to support future Tundra payload developments as additional modules enter production.

Future developments within the Tundra ecosystem are expected to include advanced microphone arrays for shot and explosion detection, additional range-finding technologies and parachute recovery systems.

Simon Harris, Managing Director at Coptrz

Tundra is solving a problem we hear from operators across defence, blue light, and inspection every single week. Drones are being kept in service for longer than ever, but the missions they’re asked to fly change constantly.

The Tundra system turns one drone into many, with a non-Chinese supply chain and a module ecosystem that scales as fast as the threat picture does.

Becoming the exclusive UK partner for Tundra is exactly the kind of capability our customers have been asking us to bring to market, and we’re proud to be the route to deploy it across Britain.”

Jonas Rinde, Co-founder and CEO at Tundra Drone

“Coptrz is one of the most respected names in the UK drone market, with deep roots in defence and public safety and direct access to the operators who rely on this technology every day.

Partnering with them gives the Tundra system exactly the channel it deserves, and puts our modular payload platform where missions actually happen.”

    About Tundra Drone

Headquartered in northern Norway, Tundra Drone was founded to standardise the payload interface layer of professional micro UAV systems.

The company describes its modular platform as “the Picatinny rail for drones”, enabling operators to rapidly adapt drones for different operational requirements without replacing the airframe itself.

Tundra Drone‘s leadership team and board draw experience from organisations including Tandberg, Cisco, Pexip, Huddly and Nomono, alongside expertise in NATO procurement law and defence innovation.

The company’s hardware is designed and built for operation in extreme conditions, including Arctic environments and sustained defence and public safety deployment.
