Recognising the limitations and hazards associated with conventional inspection techniques, the team adopted the Flyability Elios 3 drone technology to enhance safety and efficiency.

Key Advantages of Using the Elios 3 for PipeRack Inspections:

Enhanced Access: The Elios 3 drone facilitated inspections at heights up to 50 feet (15 meters), eliminating the need for personnel to work at such elevations. This approach not only reduced the risk of falls but also minimised potential hazards to workers below.
Improved Safety: By removing the necessity for inspectors to operate at significant heights, the drone significantly reduced fall risks and the dangers associated with dropping tools or equipment.
Accelerated Process: The inspection was completed in just two days, encompassing 39 drone flights. This rapid turnaround contrasts sharply with traditional methods, which can be prolonged due to safety assessments and the logistical challenges of manoeuvring equipment like cherry pickers or coordinating rope access.
