How was it done before drones?
Before the introduction of the Mini 3 Pro, Cornwall Search Dogs faced challenges in accessing certain terrains and quickly covering large areas. Their reliance on ground-based search methods limited their reach and speed. Cornwall Search Dogs now have a new addition their drone arsenal, the Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced (M2EA), which was donated by ourselves to expand their search and rescue capabilities with thermal imaging.

The Power of Drone Technology
Enhanced Search Capabilities
The drones have allowed the team to quickly scan large areas, making their searches more efficient.
Training Insights
Using drones during training sessions provides an aerial perspective, helping trainers understand the search dogs behaviours better.
Operational Flexibility
The Mini 3 Pro's lightweight design and ease of use have made it possible to deploy it in various terrains and situations.
Advanced Thermal Imaging Trials
The thermal imaging capabilities have allowed the team to conduct more targeted and efficient searches, especially in challenging terrains.
What Solution Was Used?
The DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced is a portable game-changer for mobile operations. Its features, including a 640 x 512px thermal camera, 48MP zoom, and a 32-minute flight time, empower teams to provide crucial aerial insights swiftly. Especially noteworthy is its thermal imaging capability, which proves invaluable during nighttime operations

Level up - Thermal!
During one of these trials, they were able to systematically cover two expansive fields, navigating through tall grass and other potential barriers. The thermal camera on the M2EA provided them with the confidence to conclusively rule out the presence of an injured dog in those fields—a level of assurance that was previously unattainable with their mini drone.
